Liverpool – Chelsea
Liverpool hosts Chelsea at the Anfield in a match from the 21th round of the Premier League. Let’s see what we can tell you about it in this preview.
Both teams are having a season to forget in the Premier League. The hosts Liverpool are 9th in the standings while Chelsea are doing even worse – they are 10th. It seems it’s a transitional season for both teams. It’d be interesting to see how they will finish the campaign.
Liverpool lost their last two games in the league against Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion. Obviously Jurgen Klopp’s team is not in its best shape at the moment. The Reds need some inspiration, but it seems they just can’t find it.
The new signing Cody Gakpo made his Liverpool debut during the 0-3 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion. The Dutch international started from the first minute, but obviously it was not the best debut for him. Most likely Gakpo will start against Chelsea, too.
Chelsea are still struggling under the management of Graham Potter. Now many fans ask the question if Potter was the right man for the job. He replaced the sacked Thomas Tuchel, but his results are average at best.
At least Chelsea won their last game – the home fixture against Crystal Palace at the Stamford Bridge. Kai Havertz scored the only goal in the game in the second half. He was assisted by Hakim Ziyech. It was Havertz’ 5th goal for the season.
Most likely Chelsea’s new signing Mykhailo Mudryk will make his debut against Liverpool on Saturday. The Blues spent a lot of money for the Ukrainian international who is a huge talent. Let’s see how he will adapt to the Premier League.
That’s our preview for the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Chelsea at the Anfield. We expect some great action here. Good luck!
