Barcelona – Villarreal
Barcelona welcomes Villarreal at the Camp Nou on Sunday in a game from the last 38th round of the season. Let’s preview this match in these soccer bets odds.
The Catalans are preparing themselves to finish a transitional season. They sacked the previous coach Ronald Koeman in November and replaced him with another club legend – Xavi Hernandez. Los Cules will finish the campaign without a trophy, but we already saw some signs of improvement under Xavi. The biggest one was the stunning 4-0 win against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. Barca will sign many new players in the summer so they should be back for the next season.
Barca already secured the second place in the league and Champions League football for the 2022/23 campaign. It remains to be seen what kind of a line-up Xavi will choose for Sunday as he has some players that are missing. Gerard Pique, Pedri, Sergino Dest, Eric Garcia and Nico are all recovering from their latest injuries. Against Getafe in the previous round Xavi had to use players such as Oscar Mingueza and Alex Balde in defense.
For some players this could be their last game for Barcelona. The future of Ousmane Dembele, Memphis Depay, Clement Lenglet, Samuel Umtiti, Dani Alves and Riqui Puig remains uncertain. Meanwhile Adama Traore will go back to Wolves because Barca won’t pay his release clause.
For Villarreal it was a historic season as they reached the Champions League 1/2-finals for a second time in their history. In La Liga it wasn’t so good as they are 7th and won’t play in the CL next season.
Against Barca Villarreal will try to keep the 7th place from Athletic Bilbao who are just one point behind them. It won’t be easy at the Camp Nou, though.
That’s the soccer bets odds for the La Liga clash between Barcelona and Villarreal from the last 38th round. We wish you good luck!
